We know there has been a lot of speculation nationally about school closures and ‘if’ that situation arises, we want you to know that we are prepared with resources at the ready for independent study, via our website, so that pupils are able to still access a form of education. We will keep you informed of any changes that will affect our school through our website, via txt and social media channels as soon as we know anything.  However, in the meantime, we have compiled an outline of the tasks staff have set for our students in case of closure. English

Years 7-9
Creative writing tasks and reading tasks

Year 10
Spoken Language task as homework to be prepared for the end of the summer term, students can work on preparing this.
Work has also been set on Seneca

Year 11
Students are taking exercise books home with them so they have materials to revise from. Students have also been given past papers and questions to work on for both Literature and Language. If school is closed the staff in the Department will upload short lessons or webinars where teaching takes place and then send messages via Class Charts or possibly email to let students know what they need to do.

Year 7 and 8
Students will have a work booklet on the topics they have been studying in class and individual class teacher will set work on Seneca details of tasks set and login details can be accessed by students/parents on class charts.

Year 9 and 10

Year 11
All students have finished the taught aspect of the courses and are currently revising. The students have revision booklets and past papers and can access further revision tasks (mainly on Seneca and Kerboodle) by regularly checking class charts as this will be frequently updated. There are also lots of useful revision activities on the BBC bitesize website. The students are all sitting the AQA exams in either combined trilogy science (which includes Biology, Chemistry and Physics) or Biology, Chemistry and Physics (triple).

French

Year 7 and 8 A band classes
Students have been given a work booklet from their course. All students have a copy of all of the work for the next module to be studied. Miss Appleton is going to distribute them to both classes next week.

Year 9 and 10 GCSE classes
Students are taking home reading, writing and grammar workbooks
Work specific to the module we are currently studying has been set online on Language Gym.

Year 11 Syllabus covered – plans for revision
All students have photocopied booklets of exam resources/practice for all 4 skills
Students have workbooks for reading, writing, grammar and a Practice Paper workbook with QR codes for listening practice. Students also have interactive work set in their individual classrooms on ‘Language Gym’ (this will be monitored by Mrs Johnson)
Students will be updated on plans for speaking tests which are due to take place in April.

Art and Photography

KS3 Year 7
Use the PowerPoint to research another artist who concentrates on the figure/faces OR carry out the 30 drawings challenge PowerPoint instead.

KS3 Year 8
Use the PowerPoint to research another abstract artist OR carry out the 30 drawings challenge PowerPoint instead.

KS4 Year 9
Art Continue with the current project in which you are all doing really well. The Project PowerPoint is enclosed and tasks to be done are in bold and underlined. KS4 Year 9/10 Photography
Upload your PowerPoint in One Drive (details on school website under Students) and continue developing your theme. If you cant upload your PowerPoint then continue your work as best you can taking at least two shoots and using whatever editing software you have. KS4 Year 10 Art

Follow the checklist as per your teachers instructions to develop your themes so that you are exam ready before the deadline. Develop your theme slides so that you are planned and ready to complete the exam in the last week of term (if school is open) You should have at least five shoots completed, the fifth should be a test shoot for the exam. Business Studies

Year 9
Complete 3 ideas table which will be set on Class Charts. Students can either email to teacher when competed or hand in on return to school.

Year 10
Complete any outstanding c/w for Component 1 Learning Aim A up to Distinction with worksheets uploaded to Class Charts. If students are already at Distinction they will use the Market Research PowerPoint and information from Essence and Peter Clark to complete the first task of Learning Aim B. Students can either email to teacher when competed or hand in on return to school.

Year 11
Use the Market Research PowerPoint and information from Essence, Peter Clark, Sweet Retreat and Shout to complete the first task of Learning Aim B. Students can either email to teacher when competed or hand in on return to school.

IT

Year 7 and 8
Work has been set work to do a booklet on Identifying Parts of a Computer. This will be on Class Charts.

Year 9
Tasks for coursework via Class Charts have been set for individual groups

Year 10
Work has been set on Class Charts for students to continue with reports for Learning Aim A.

Year 11
Work for Year 11 has been set on Class Charts as students all need to be working on Learning Am C of Component 2. Staff have included all help sheets they may need, etc.

Technology

KS3

Year 7
Project on instruments (paper booklets will be available for those without IT)

Write ups on Classical and song-writing projects (paper booklets will be available for those without IT) and instrument practice

Year 10
Exam revision/preparation (copies of some past papers have already been given to students) and instrument practice

Year 11
All written work to outstanding units can be completed at home. Individual students will be given specific check lists

History

KS3
Students have their own OneDrive account, and staff will send the link. They should access the lessons on World War One, for Year 8 and Tudors for Year 7. Also lots of extra reading on there.

KS4
GCSE students have been sent a link to our OneDrive account. This has lesson plans, revision notes and past papers, plus extra reading. Year 11 students will also be able to watch online lessons via YouTube. They’ll be sent the links etc if necessary.

RE

Year 7
Complete questions on yellow worksheet as best you can. A copy of this will also be put on classcharts. Make sure your name and class is on it as you will be expected to hand it in when we come back. Complete Homework making a guide book for key features in a Synagogue. You may want to use the time off to make a 3d model of a synagogue to be brought in when we return.

Year 8
Complete questions on pink worksheet as best you can. A copy of this will also be put on classcharts. Make sure your name and class is on it as you will be expected to hand it in when we come back.

Year 9
The Judaism topic booklet will be sent home as well as exercise book. Students should keep checking classcharts / email for extra information on the pages they need to complete.

Year 10 & 11
Students should take exercise books home to revise from. Seneca will be set regularly. Activelearn also has RE work on it. Past papers will also be handed out. Health and Social Care

Students will be working on Component 1 Learning Aim A -
Learners will investigate how, in real situations, human development is affected by different factors and how people deal differently with these life events.
How do people grow and develop through their lives?
How can factors such as lifestyle choices and relationships affect this?
Understanding these processes is essential knowledge and understanding for health and social care practitioners.

In this component, you will study how people grow and develop over the course of their life, from infancy to old age, this includes physical, intellectual, emotional and social development (PIES) and the different factors that may affect them. An individual’s development can be affected by major life events, such as marriage, parenthood or moving house, as well as the types and sources of support that can help them.
